About me I’m Mihai, a 24-year-old film director & writer based in East London. Born in Portugal and raised in the culturally rich city of Oradea, Romania, I made my first short film when I was 7, armed with my dad’s Sony Hi8 camcorder, featuring my best friends and set in our block’s courtyard. I moved to London in 2019 to study Film & TV at University of the Arts London. After three years of watching films, reading and eating instant noodles every day, I graduated with a First Honours BA degree and dove straight into directing. I’m currently working in commercials, music videos and short films in the UK, Romania, France and hopefully more. Several of my short films have been screened at festivals all around the world, from London to Beirut. I recently co-founded the production company Full House Films together with my creative partner, Josie Cronk, who is a cinematographer. Things I like: dance-punk and 70s afrobeat, basketball, magical realism, walking, reading books half-way, disco balls and films by people who got dubbed “the new enfant terrible of cinema” such as Godard, Almodóvar, Leos Carax, Agnès Varda, Scorsese, Iñárritu and Radu Jude.
